Imaging (Printers, Scanners, All in one)

Imaging (Printers, Scanners, All in one)

ENERGY STAR-certified imaging equipment including printers, scanners, and all-in-one devices are some of the first products to earn the ENERGY STAR. Through the years, the EPA has strengthened the energy efficiency requirements so that certified models are 30 percent* more efficient than standard models! Now, by meeting requirements to enter low-power "sleep" modes when inactive, and using efficient power supplies, ENERGY STAR imaging equipment saves energy when it is in use AND when it is not.

ENERGY STAR-certified televisions are, on average, 27 percent* more energy efficient than conventional models, saving energy in all usage modes: sleep, idle, and on. The ENERGY STAR can be found on everything from standard TVs to large screen TVs with the latest features like ultra high-definition (UHD) and internet connectivity. Some models that earn the ENERGY STAR incorporate organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), the latest in screen lighting technology.

Saving energy with ENERGY STAR-certified home entertainment products helps protect the climate. A home equipped with TVs, a Blu-Ray player, a compact audio system, a cordless telephone and a home-theatre-in-a-box that have earned the ENERGY STAR can save nearly $200 over* the life of the products. If each TV, DVD player, and home theatre system purchased in the U.S. this year earned the ENERGY STAR, we would prevent nearly 2 billion pounds of greenhouse gas emissions every year, equal to the emissions from more than 175,000 cars.*

ENERGY STAR-certified computers deliver substantial savings* over standard models. Desktops, integrated desktops, notebook (laptop) computers, workstations, small-scale servers, and thin clients are all eligible to earn the ENERGY STAR, and those that do are now more efficient than ever. For additional savings, the computer’s power management features should also be used.

Computer Monitors

Computer Monitors

ENERGY STAR-certified monitors meet stringent energy efficiency requirements in on, sleep, and off modes.

For small monitors, the on mode power consumption limits are based on both viewable screen area and resolution. The on mode power consumption limits for large monitors are based on viewable screen area alone. In general, larger, high-resolution monitors will have higher maximum on mode power consumption allowances than smaller, low resolution monitors.

On average, monitors that have earned the ENERGY STAR are 25 percent* more energy efficient than standard options.
