How does the thermostat help me save year-round?
The thermostat’s programmable features let you pre-set it to operate your heating and cooling systems automatically at optimal, energy efficient temperatures while you are sleeping or away from home, helping you save up to 15 percent on your heating and cooling costs. During cycling events, we will send a signal to the thermostat to temporarily cycle your central air conditioner off and on. Your air conditioner's fan will continue to circulate air throughout your home. Once the cycling event has ended, your central air conditioner will resume its normal operation.
Does my utility company control my thermostat settings?
No, you control your thermostat settings — the utility company cannot adjust your thermostat settings through this program.
When and how often does cycling occur?
Although cycling events can be initiated any time they are required, they typically only occur on weekdays between noon and 7 p.m. during the summer months. Typically, air conditioner compressors will be cycled off and on in 15 minute intervals.
How will I know how to use my new thermostat?
At the time of installation, the technician will program your new thermostat for you according to your preferred schedule. If you need assistance after that, our customer service team is only a phone call away.
Can I override my participation during a cycling event?
You may choose to override your participation in a cycling event once each year by calling the Easy Cool Rewards customer service hotline at 1-888-243-0992.
